About Foreign Cinema:

Situated in a courtyard between a few buildings in the Mission, Foreign Cinema offers a novel alfresco dining experience that includes screening a film on a blank outer wall of a building. Despite the name, they do not screen foreign films exclusively. They also show current and classic U.S. films that on any given day could be from the 1940s, the 1980s or the last 10 years. Foreign films can also be of any era. Also expect to see arthouse films, thrillers, dramas and Tom Cruise blockbusters.

The atmosphere has been described as a modern cinema type feel in the interior space, which has a bit more seating than the outside, and bears the rustic qualities reminiscent of a drive-in; likely due to the surface they screen the films on, a very large white wall.

As for Dining in San Francisco, the menu showcases an American and Mediterranean mix. This interesting establishment features an oyster bar and a shellfish bar. One of the best things about west coast seafood, and Foreign Cinema, is the Dungeness crab. Also offered is Maine lobster and Littleneck clams from Cape Cod. As if that wasn’t enough the Maple Brined Pork Chops and Five Spice Duck Breast are both delicious. There are several vegetarian dishes to choose from as well.
